Why Protein and Iron are Essential to Treat Hair Loss

by andMe Bioactive Beverage 30 Aug 2022 0 Comments

Hair loss can be caused by several factors, including stress, genetics and hormonal imbalances. The good news is that there are ways to treat these conditions. If you are concerned about hair loss, getting your blood tested for iron and protein deficiency is essential. Iron deficiency can cause anaemia and make hair loss worse. Unfortunately, it can also lead to other health problems, including fatigue and poor memory. Another common problem is low-level inflammation in the body, which can be caused by oxidative stress or poor diet. This inflammation can cause issues with cell growth and repair, including damaged follicles in your hair follicles, making them unable to produce healthy new tissue cells that can grow back thicker, fuller-looking hair.

Causes of hair loss:

Any of the following can cause hair loss in women:

  • -Ageing
  • -Pregnancy
  • -Chemotherapy
  • -High or low thyroid hormone levels
  • -Hormone replacement therapy (HRT)
  • -Illness or emotional stress
  • -Medical conditions, including chemotherapy treatments and thyroid conditions
  • -Stress or anxiety
  • -Genetic hairfall
  • -Changes to your diet or exercise routine
  • -Hair transplantation surgery
  • -Dandruff or itchy scalp
  • -Using hairstyle equipment daily

Hair loss due to iron deficiency:

Women with iron deficiency are also more likely to lose their hair because they don't have enough energy and nutrients to keep their hair follicles healthy. When you have iron deficiency, the hair on your head may become brittle or dry and fall out in patches. You may also experience iron-deficiency anemia, which can cause fatigue and dizziness. Hair loss due to iron deficiency is a widespread problem in women. It's the most common cause of hair loss in women. Hair loss due to iron deficiency can be caused by several factors, such as menstruation, pregnancy and menopause.

Iron is an essential mineral that helps the human body produce new red blood cells and carry oxygen around your body. Iron is also needed to create haemoglobin, the protein that carries oxygen in your blood cells. There are various ways to prevent and treat iron deficiency. The most common way is by eating more fresh, leafy vegetables and fruits, which are good sources of iron. However, some women may also experience anemia for other reasons such as chronic illness, certain medications or pregnancy. If you're anemic and your doctor has prescribed iron supplements, follow the directions on the label carefully. Don't take more than the recommended dose because too much iron can be harmful and even lead to death.

Hair loss due to protein deficiency:

Protein is a nutrient that forms structural elements of the human body. It is one of the three macronutrients required in humans' diet. Sufficient amounts of protein in a host's diet can lead to constructive development. In contrast, inadequate protein intake causes the breakdown and recycling of existing tissues to fulfil the demands for this macronutrient. In harmony with other nutrients, the human body uses amino acids from proteins to build its cells, including muscle and organ tissues. If a human diet lacks many essential amino acids, they will be passed to the liver by the bloodstream. The liver will then synthesize new amino acids called non-essential amino acids. These are the building blocks for bone, teeth, and hair and can be built up over time if dietary protein intake is insufficient after maintaining a period of nitrogen balance.

To avoid hair loss and damage, a person should have a diet including animal protein sources. These are the highest quality proteins known to man. Hair is made up of keratin, a form of protein, and as long as you consume enough of this nutrient, your hair will be stronger, thicker and healthier than ever before. Vegetarian sources of protein also work well! Eggs, beans, lentils and tofu can all be used to supplement your body with the protein it needs to grow new tissue, such as that of your hair properly.

Home remedies for hair fall:

Hair regrowth is a worldwide concern for both men and women. While people go for surgery and chemical treatments, we suggest some effective home remedies to prevent hairfall:

Set a proper routine:

Unlike your body, your hair also needs a particular routine. Start by oiling your hair at least twice a week and massage your scalp. After shampoo, make sure you use hair serums that will have no side effects on your scalp.

Eat healthy:

Your eating habits leave severe consequences on your hair health. Try to include leafy veggies and fresh fruits in your diet; it will hydrate your scalp and also prevent hair growth.

Aloe vera:

A lot of experts recommend Aloe vera extract for hair treatment. It unblocks hair follicles, reduces hairfall and itching, and soothes inflammation.

Coconut oil:

Coconut oil contains lauric acid; a fatty acid that penetrates deeper into the hair shaft and reduces protein loss from hair strands.

Fish oil:

Omega fatty acids are filled with proteins and nutrients, and it strengthens the hair strands from the inside. Also, fish oil consists of a lot of antioxidants that improve hair volume.

Onion juice:

Onion juice is an effective treatment for alopecia and revives hair growth naturally. In addition, it improves blood circulation on your scalp and follicle growth.

You can also try including plant-based supplements in your diet like andMe’s Protein and Iron Tablets. It is filled with the goodness of Ayurveda and leaves no side effects on your health.
